Max Mazzone
Founder and Co-CIO
Mr. Mazzone is the Founder and Co-Chief Investment Officer of Big Cypress Capital.
Mr. Mazzone is the Founder and Co-Chief Investment Officer of Big Cypress Capital. Big Cypress Capital was formed in 2017.
In 2005, Mr. Mazzone founded Gulfshore Capital Partners (Big Cypress Capital’s 50% owner/ sponsor and manager of Big Cypress Capital’s predecessor affiliates). Through affiliates, Gulfshore Capital Partners made a 9-figure equity commitment to legacy opportunistic real estate investments and financings primarily with the financial backing of SB Capital Group.
Mr Mazzone was previously a Vice President at a Chicago based investment bank, where he was responsible for the firm’s restructuring initiatives. He also worked in the M&A Group at a bulge bracket investment bank in New York where he provided corporate finance and M&A advice to some of the world’s most notable corporations and private equity firms.
Prior to Mr. Mazzone’s investment banking career, he served as a Director in Arthur Andersen, LLP’s corporate finance group and practiced as a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Mazzone earned an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
Kevin Dooley
CFO and Co-CIO
Kevin Dooley is Chief Financial Officer and Co-Chief Investment Officer of Big Cypress Capital.
Kevin is the Co-Chief Investment Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Big Cypress. Prior to Big Cypress, Kevin spent 27 years at SB360 Capital Partners and its predecessor, SB Capital Group. Kevin held positions of COO and CFO at SB360 Capital Partners and played a key role in the creation and development of its asset-based lending platform, Second Avenue Capital Partners. Kevin was a Principal, COO and Executive Vice President at SB Capital Group.
Kevin’s financial background, and the operational experience he attained through SB Capital’s many business groups, positioned him to oversee and execute many aspects of the business. Kevin was responsible for negotiating, structuring, and implementing some of the company’s largest transactions. Kevin also took a lead role in the Company’s international activities. He spent significant time in Japan and the UK executing and managing the company’s investments.
Prior to joining SB Capital Group/SB360, Kevin was a Manager with Arthur Andersen, LLP, and a Finance Manager with the Colgate Palmolive Company.
Kevin has a B.S. degree in Accounting from St. John’s University’s Peter J. Tobin College of Business and is a Certified Public Accountant.
